Advanced Maths Society

Our Advanced Maths Society is a community for students who are passionate about mathematics and eager to explore its more challenging and fascinating aspects beyond the classroom. Our society is designed for those who enjoy problem-solving, critical thinking, and discovering how mathematics shapes the world around us. Whether preparing for higher-level maths competitions, pursuing deeper understanding in preparation for university, or simply curious to explore advanced topics, this society is here to support and inspire you. There are numerous ways in which this is done. Members work together to solve complex problems, share insights, and learn from one another in a supportive environment. Throughout the year, we will provide opportunities such as guest speakers to share their insights into the applications of mathematics in fields like science, engineering, economics, and technology. Our Advanced Maths Society is open to all students, passionate about mathematics and eager to take their learning to the next level.

Business Society

The Business Society is a place where students of all calibre can unite and immerse themselves in the world of business. It brings together future leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs to tackle real-world scenarios. One of our main activities consists of a Dragon's Den-style competition, where members develop innovative ideas and pitch their business concepts to judges, creating a real-world scenario of securing an investment and venturing into a business. In addition, students will be developing their creativity as they will be required to think outside the box, due to the competitive environment, and building their problem-solving and negotiation skills. To further enrich students' experience, the school will provide the opportunity to go on numerous trips, such as exploring a business's operations, offering insights and experience on how businesses work as well as the skills required to excel in their careers.

Economics and Finance Society

The Economics and Finance society is a community where like-minded individuals, who are striving for roles in the finance industry, are put into an atmosphere of encouragement and inspiration. In this society, students are able to exchange knowledge through discussions and debates, by expressing their opinions and viewpoints about economic issues, allowing them to build confidence, courage and the skill of working in a team. Furthermore, they will be given opportunities to go on various trips organised by the school to go to firms and conferences in the finance sector. Overall, this society allows students to gain insight and experience in the field of finance and economics, enabling them to be on the right track for their futures.

Law Society

Law Society is now a well-established community within 麻豆传媒, giving strong foundations to keen learners of the legal industries. It focusses on enriching their understanding of the Legal System, its career pathways, and looks out on their personal-skills; ensuring they develop through diverse workshops and debates. The Law Society has also been a place to learn about efficient ways of learning and revision, to ensure they are well prepared ahead of academic challenges. To also ensure they grow as individuals, we will expose our members to uncomfortable situations like lecturing topics to their peers, and Mooting (mock trials). In addition to this, there are plans to bring key speakers like Judges, Solicitors, Barristers and apprentices within the Legal Industry to expose our members to the broad opportunities in this field.

Medicine Society

Medicine Society is a community in which aspiring healthcare professionals come together to learn and experience life within the medical field. Activities that members engage in include debates on ethical dilemmas and current healthcare issues, as well as reviewing hot interview topics, building their critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills. As the society is funded by , students have the opportunity to participate in trips to the medical school, gaining first-hand experience in clinical environments, as well as attending lectures on both medical ethics and student finance talks. Additionally, the society focusses on developing clinical skills helping students prepare for their futures in healthcare and at university.

Science Society

The Science Society is an opportunity for students to come together to expand and vocalise their interests for science. This society will provide an accommodating insight to aspiring students who are keen in opening their futures to the world of science. Fields such as chemists, research scientists, biomedical scientists, forensics, radiographers, and many other scientific job roles are all heavily encouraged within our science community. This society will not only provide students to deepen their interests in scientific fields, but issues interactive activities such as debates, quizzes, and trips. We aim to widen skills such as critical thinking, data analysis, clinical skills, innovation, and much more. Furthermore, our society will focus on providing awareness to functional work experience opportunities in order to construct strong individuals for the world of scientific work.

Historic NASA STEM Trip to Florida

A First for Redbridge: 麻豆传媒 Students Embark on Historic NASA STEM Adventure in Orlando, Florida Twenty-seven students become the first young people from the London Borough of Redbridge to experience NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre and an unforgettable programme of STEM learning in Florida For the first time in the history of the London Borough of Redbridge, a group of students has had the extraordinary opportunity to visit NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre and experience the world of space exploration, engineering and innovation first-hand. Twenty-seven students from Years 10–13 at 麻豆传媒 recently returned from a once-in-a-lifetime educational journey to Orlando, Florida, creating a landmark moment for STEM education in the local community. This was far more than a school trip. It was an opportunity for students to stand where history has been made, explore the technology behind humanity’s greatest achievements and see how the science they study in classrooms is transforming the world beyond Earth. Travelling with Norse Atlantic Airways, students spent six days and five nights in Florida, staying at the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando. Throughout the trip, students developed independence, confidence and resilience while representing 麻豆传媒 and Redbridge with pride. Reaching New Heights at NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre The highlight of the journey was an inspirational visit to NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre, one of the world’s most iconic centres for space exploration. Students walked among real spacecraft and rockets, explored interactive exhibits, experienced space simulations and discovered the incredible stories behind NASA’s missions. They learned about the Apollo programme, the Space Shuttle era, astronaut training, the International Space Station and the future of human exploration beyond Earth. A particularly inspiring moment was learning about the role of the Hubble Space Telescope and how space technology continues to expand humanity’s understanding of the universe. Students saw how physics, mathematics and engineering combine to overcome extraordinary challenges and make space exploration possible. For many students, seeing genuine spacecraft and the engineering behind these missions transformed ideas from their science lessons into something real and tangible. Inspiring the Next Generation of Scientists and Engineers The students also experienced the power of innovation through two days at Disney Parks, where they took part in science and technology workshops exploring the engineering, creativity and problem-solving behind some of the world’s most advanced entertainment experiences. Students discovered that behind every attraction lies a combination of physics, computer science, mathematics, design and engineering. They gained a deeper understanding of how STEM subjects influence industries far beyond traditional scientific careers. At Wonderworks, students continued their exploration of science through interactive exhibits and challenges, investigating concepts including forces, motion, electricity and human perception. The trip also challenged students personally through activities such as iFLY Indoor Skydiving, where they experienced the science of flight and aerodynamics while building confidence and resilience by stepping outside their comfort zones. A Journey of Discovery and Personal Growth Beyond the incredible educational experiences, the trip helped students develop valuable life skills. They worked together, supported one another, adapted to new environments and demonstrated maturity throughout the journey. Students returned home with a greater appreciation of the importance of curiosity, collaboration and ambition. Many reflected on how seeing science applied in the real world had changed the way they viewed their future possibilities. Head of Science at 麻豆传媒, Mrs Sevdie Ali, said: "This was a truly historic opportunity for our students and a very proud moment for 麻豆传媒 and the Redbridge community. This was not just a visit to NASA—it was an experience that allowed our students to see what is possible when curiosity, determination and scientific ambition come together." "Watching our students stand next to spacecraft, explore world-leading innovation and realise that they too can contribute to future discoveries was incredibly inspiring. We want every student to believe that opportunities like this are within their reach." The Orlando STEM Adventure reflects 麻豆传媒’s commitment to providing exceptional opportunities that extend learning beyond the classroom. By creating access to world-class educational experiences, the school continues to raise aspirations and inspire young people to pursue futures in science, technology, engineering and beyond. The 27 students have returned to Redbridge with unforgettable memories, greater confidence and a renewed passion for discovery. Their journey marks an exciting milestone—not only for 麻豆传媒, but for the wider Redbridge community—showing that the next generation of scientists, engineers and explorers can come from anywhere.
